Implecho Expands Capabilities and Markets with OwnersEdge’s Acquisition of Communications Direct

In a strategic move to accelerate growth, OwnersEdge Inc., a 100% employee-owned ESOP holding company based in Waukesha, Wis., has acquired Communications Direct (CommDirect), an Illinois-based, mission-critical communications business that is a Motorola Solutions channel partner and a national leader in communication system rentals.  

All CommDirect employees are now employee owners and will benefit from the company’s employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).  

The newly acquired company’s rental brands will be integrated as a division of Implecho, an OwnersEdge company headquartered in Pewaukee, Wis. As a leading provider of audio communications solutions, Implecho will be able to expand its services and presence across new regions and introduce new capabilities. 

Expanded Capabilities for Implecho 

CommDirect is headquartered in St. Charles and has rental offices in four key cities that host large trade shows and conventions and high-profile events – Morton Grove, Illinois (which is close to Chicago); Orlando; Carrollton, Texas (just outside of Dallas/Fort Worth); and Las Vegas. This complements Implecho’s existing rental services, which cater to corporate events, tradeshows,  manufacturing, local concerts and fairs, and construction industries. 

Implecho President Bridget Pedersen highlights the benefits of this acquisition: “CommDirect’s radio rental services primarily target large-scale concerts and corporate events with its two-way radio rental services, which complements Implecho’s current audio communications portfolio. By integrating CommDirect’s offerings, we are enhancing Implecho’s capabilities in communications rentals, onsite services, and rapidly expanding our nationwide presence. The addition of new locations and CommDirect’s established reputation will significantly boost our operational efficiency and customer experience.”
